Land Use Committee (LUC) / Mobility Committee:
A new building, a new retail store, a major construction proposal, all issues that concern stakeholders are the purview of the Land Use Committee. Proposals for changes in our community are brought by their proponents to the Committee meetings prior to development. All issues concerning the quality of life and development within the borders of the WNC are our concern. Stakeholders are welcome to offer input.
Mobility issues affecting the daily lives of stakeholders within the boundaries of the WNC are at the center
of the work of this committee.
Sub-Committees are created, as needed, to address specific mobility issues.
The Sub-Committees work with other community groups and City and County agencies -
Police, Fire, Dept.
of Transportation, Bureau of Street Maintenance and the MTA - to address mobility issues. The Committee
welcomes input form all stakeholders on issues
of interest relating to mobility. -

Policies and Procedures Ad Hoc: e-mail: correspondingsecretary@wncla.org
Since the WNC Governing Board is mandated to operate under rules established by City Charter and the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, all
operating rules for the organization must be carefully written and followed. As the WNC evolves, conditions change requiring adjustments to the Bylaws and
the operation of the monthly meetings. The Policy and Procedures Committee meets to consider proposals for the operation of the WNC.

---> Pico Beautification Project: e-mail:outreach@wncla.org
The Pico Beautification Project or "Walk This Way" has been a dream of many in the area for some years now. This committee is gathering the approval of the CD5 office and has brought in experts in the field of urban landscaping in the hopes of transforming Pico into the lively, beautiful walk/shop street it has always had the potential to become. New businesses are setting up shop on Pico everyday and there seems to be a ground swell of support from business owners and residents alike. The WNC has set aside funding for this project and hopes to involve the community with the planning and maintenance of this exciting project. Help us make Pico Pretty!... Join us at our next meeting, we would love to hear your ideas. Meeting are scheduled on a "as needed" basis.
